Nikkita Black-Marshall, BS, joined the Developing Brain Institute (DBI) as a Maternity Care Specialist in May 2022. Nikkita began a career in the healthcare field as a medical assistant at Foxhall Pediatrics in Washington, D.C., developing her love and passion for caring for infants and children. Her patient-centered approach was enriched by her most recent role as the Senior Patient Access Representative at the Emergency Room at Children’s National Hospital, the nation’s No. 5 pediatric hospital. Nikkita is a proud graduate of Howard University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education with a concentration in Child and Maternal Health. While attending Howard, Nikkita volunteered in a plethora of initiatives – including D.C. Health Case Challenge Preventing Threats to Children’s Well-Being, Women’s Holistic Healing Summit and the Food Justice Conference – earning accolades and deepening her healthcare education section knowledge. Nikkita also has obtained a certification in Healthcare Management from the Milken Institute School of Public Health of the George Washington University, and she is a DONA International trained doula. She is excited to join DBI and looks forward to making a positive impact in this role on the Mommy&Me team.
