Morteza Pishghadam, Ph.D., MS, Research Postdoctoral Fellow, joined the Developing Brain Institute (DBI) at Children’s National in October 2021. Morteza’s primary research focuses on developing and applying innovative fetal brain MRI acquisition and post-processing methods to advance fetal diagnostics in high-risk pregnancies. Before joining DBI, he obtained his Ph.D. in Medical Physics from Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences where he developed a novel approach to automatic fetal brain extraction from MR images using variational level set method. Prior to his Ph.D., he obtained his master’s degree in Medical Physics at the Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, also in Iran.
