Morgan Clay, MS, BSN, RN, Clinical Program Coordinator, joined the Developing Brain Institute in 2020. Having previously worked as a neonatal intensive care unit nurse for several years, she joined the team with extensive knowledge of the neonate population and maternal health. In addition, she has studied in Community/Public Health Nursing, which led to a passion and advocacy for children’s environmental health and an understanding how social determinants of health impact health outcomes. She recently completed her master’s in nursing with a focus on public health. She has worked in the District of Columbia/Baltimore communities - specifically vulnerable populations. At the Institute, she plays an integral role in a number of studies, including Project PROTECT, for which she will assist in overseeing daily activities, such as participant enrollment, dashboard updates and data collection. She hopes to bring research in maternal child health populations to foster improved health outcomes, integration of new practices and policy changes within health care.
