Merrick Kasper, BA

Clinical Research Coordinator

Merrick Kasper, BA, joined the Developing Brain Institute (DBI) as a Clinical Research Coordinator in July 2022. Merrick recently graduated from the University of San Diego’s College of Arts and Science, where she received a bachelor's degree in Biology. Throughout her undergraduate education, Merrick participated in applied health care and research settings where she developed a passion for patient wellness and cognitive development. As a registered Certified Nursing Assistant, she has experience working in a variety of clinical environments, including critical care. Her interest in mental health awareness and cognitive development grew as she saw both the physiological and psychological toll that the COVID-19 pandemic had on patients. Pursuing this newfound interest, Merrick joined the Johns Hopkins Medicine’s Pediatrics at Home team, building a strong foundation in research and pediatric care. Merrick is excited to be a part of the Developing Brain Institute because its overarching mission echoes her passion for providing excellent patient care and leading the field in fetal neurodevelopmental research. As a Clinical Research Coordinator, she looks forward to working with community partners, clinical personnel, patients and their families and hopes to promote fetal and maternal health research through a patient-centered lens.
