Mary T. Donofrio, M.D., Medical Director of the Prenatal Cardiology Program at Children’s National, is an international expert in fetal cardiology and has published over 100 papers, including the American Heart Association Scientific Statement on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Fetal Cardiac Disease. Dr. Donofrio is one of the founders and current president of the Fetal Heart Society, a non-profit organization created to advance the art and science of prenatal cardiovascular medicine; to improve the understanding of in-utero cardiovascular physiology by fostering scientific research, organized research collaboration and mentorship; and to educate medical and research professionals through scientific publications, education and meetings.
