Ellen Bartolini, PSY.D., PMH-C

Psychologist

Ellen Bartolini, Psy.D., PMH-C, is a licensed clinical psychologist who joined the Developing Brain Institute (DBI) in June 2021. Dr. Bartolini specializes in treating parents and families coping with complex fetal medical diagnoses. She works closely with the Prenatal Pediatrics Institute and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Children’s National Hospital to support patients navigating challenging pregnancies. Dr. Bartolini has extensive experience in treating grief, loss and medical trauma, and has completed advanced training in perinatal mental health. She also has been an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Pediatrics at The George Washington University (GWU) School of Medicine & Health Sciences since October 2022, and prior to that was a clinical instructor at GWU. Prior to joining DBI, she spent five years in the Pediatric Medical Psychology department at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she developed particular expertise in treating children, parents and families facing serious medical illnesses. Dr. Bartolini earned her Psy.D. from Widener University’s Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology and completed her postdoctoral fellowship through The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. At Children’s National, she is credentialed through her affiliation with the Division of Psychology & Behavioral Health. Dr. Bartolini is licensed as a clinical psychologist in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
