Eleni Panagopoulos, BA

Clinical Research Coordinator

Eleni Panagopoulos, BA, joined the Developing Brain Institute (DBI) as a Clinical Research Coordinator in March 2022. Prior to joining our team, Eleni attended the Johns Hopkins University Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, where she received bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Psychology. Throughout her undergraduate career, she was involved in research and healthcare settings that sparked her interest in medicine and the intersection of physical and mental health. Eleni worked as a research assistant with Johns Hopkins Medicine in the Epilepsy Center, where she supported clinical research about the neuropsychological impact of late-onset epilepsy. She was also a volunteer at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Baltimore, where she provided therapeutic play, positive energy and company to pediatric patients. Prior to joining DBI, Eleni was a member of the Prenatal Pediatrics Institute team at Children’s National, where she supported clinical research studies related to neurocardiac function and regulation in patients admitted to the cardiac intensive care unit. As a Clinical Research Coordinator with our team, Eleni looks forward to supporting DBI's research focus on early brain development and the relationship between physical health, perinatal mental health and children’s neurodevelopmental outcomes. She will work closely with our neonatal and fetal research team to support participant recruitment, data management and study oversight. Eleni is excited to work together our researchers, clinicians, and patients and their families in the hope of improving maternal, fetal, newborn and infant health.
