Senior Systems Engineer

Cory Richardson, CSM, ITIL v3, SAFe 4 Agilist, is a Senior Systems Engineer for the Developing Brain Institute (DBI) at Children’s National with expertise that includes engineering services, cybersecurity, policy acumen, technical configuration and risk management. Cory joined DBI in June 2022. He leads engineering services beyond the scope of planning, managing and implementing server and software technologies for the Institute. Prior to joining DBI, Cory studied Electrical Engineering at Howard University in Washington, D.C., the starting place of his lifelong passion for transforming IT through healthcare-centric technology solutions and service excellence. He has served as a Subject Matter Expert for our nation’s veterans. Cory is passionate about applying systems science and systems thinking to recognize and solve IT system problems while engaging in DBI’s research efforts.

Fun fact: Cory grew up near the Battle of the Sol-Legare Island Marker (Charleston, South Carolina), the site of several camps, artillery positions and battles During the Civil War (1861-1865).
