Brittany Flournoy, LICSW, LCSW, CCM, PMH-C, in March 2022 joined Mommy&Me, our PCORI-funded research study, as a Perinatal Behavioral Health Specialist. Brittany’s passion for the birthing population began in 2015 while she served as Medical Case Manager for pregnant women living with HIV/AIDS in Greater Houston. Since, she has worked in clinical and non-clinical roles alongside pregnant women experiencing intense psychosocial needs and medical comorbidities in acute, ambulatory and community settings. Brittany believes that Healthy Births Matter and that all marginalized birthing people have a right to a safe and supportive environment. She received her master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Houston and completed a specialization in Health Disparities. Brittany continues to dedicate her professional growth to the perinatal community and bridging the gap between evidence-based research, practical policy and effective practice to improve patient outcomes. She is excited to align her long-time dream of living in Washington, D.C., with her professional work to inspire change and accountability for our most vulnerable populations at the individual and systemic levels.
