Adrian Paez joined the lab as a R&D staff engineer in March, 2017. His main focuses at the lab are in data acquisition, image processing, and the continued development and improvement of image acquisition and processing in the ongoing research. He received his BS from the University of Maryland, College Park in Bioengineering in 2014, hoping to focus his efforts on quality of life improvement for the patient-care experience.
From there, he worked for MedStar Union Memorial Hospital as a Research Associate in their Surgical Techniques and Technologies (STAT) Lab within their orthopedics department. His work focused on biomechanics research refining existing orthopedic procedures in an effort to better patient recovery, and designing and developing test frames and VIs to facilitate that purpose. His current goal is the refinement of current acquisition techniques and protocols to better data collection and image processing.
